Ceren Acer has extensively worked and specialized in the fields of intellectual and industrial property law, foreigners and citizenship law throughout her career. Since 2015, she has gained experience in filing applications for trademarks, industrial designs, utility models, providing legal consultancy and solving disputes on these issues for her domestic and foreign clients before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
In addition, she advises and assists his clients on the transition of intellectual property rights during mergers and acquisitions and investments, in follow-up of license transactions from beginning to end and in execution of license agreements. Ceren Acer is also a member of the Istanbul Bar Association Intellectual and Industrial Rights Commission.
In addition, she follows-up all citizenship and permit applications of foreign clients that would like to acquire citizenship, residence and work permits in Turkey, and provides legal assistance as regards to her clients needs after obtaining citizenship, residence and work permits. In addition, she provides legal consultancy on matters such as marriage between Turkish citizens and foreigners, divorce, alimony obligations, property regimes between spouses, custody, paternity establishment, and provides legal services in litigation regarding disputes arising from family law and in settlement of protocols between the parties.
Since 2018, she has been providing legal advice and litigation to the clients of non-governmental organizations working in the field of migration law within the scope of the Joint Legal Aid Project carried out with the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR).
In light of the experiences she gained from voluntary and professional work in various non-governmental organizations, her articles on discrimination, migration and human rights have been published in digital magazines and newspapers and she continues to work actively on this subject.
